About this service

A Google penalty is one of the more stressful things that can happen to an SEO program. Traffic drops suddenly or gradually, rankings disappear, and often nobody is sure exactly what caused it or how to fix it. The two main penalty types require very different approaches, and misidentifying which one you have wastes time and makes recovery harder.

We have recovered sites from both manual actions (where Google's webspam team explicitly flags your site) and algorithmic penalties (where an algorithm update applies a quality or link assessment). The first step is always diagnosis.

Manual action recovery

Manual actions are visible in Google Search Console under Security and Manual Actions. They are typically caused by link schemes (paid links, PBNs, link exchanges) or thin/spammy content. We audit your full backlink profile using Ahrefs to identify the toxic links, build the disavow file, clean up the on-site issues, and prepare the reconsideration request. Manual actions are typically resolved within 30 to 60 days of a successful reconsideration.

Algorithmic penalty recovery

Algorithmic penalties do not appear in Search Console. They manifest as sudden or gradual traffic drops that correlate with a Google algorithm update. Recovery requires identifying the type of update, understanding what it targeted, and systematically improving the affected quality signals. This takes longer than manual action recovery but follows a clear diagnostic process.

What you need to provide

Search Console access, Google Analytics access, and the approximate date of your traffic drop. With those three things we can usually identify the cause within a couple of days and give you a clear recovery plan before you commit to the full service.

Manual penalties are resolvable. Algorithmic drops take longer but the same process applies: clean the site, improve the signals, wait for re-evaluation.
